Astraia was a figure from Greek and Roman mythology – the maiden goddess of justice who at the dawn of the Iron Age is said to have abandoned “the murderous blood-soaked Earth.” We chose this name for two reasons: one, because we were fascinated by the life and deeds of the goddess Astraia, and two, because the name can be easily understood and accordingly well used around the world.
